The Neurosequential Network’s Neurosequential Model in Caregiving© (NMC) was developed by Dr. Bruce Perry, MD, Ph.D. Dr. Perry is a teacher, clinician, author, and researcher. Dr. Perry adds a wealth of knowledge to the literature regarding children’s mental health and the impact of abuse, neglect, and trauma on the developing brain. The NMC training consists of six modules that introduces participants to the effects of trauma and abuse on a child’s developing brain and how best to care for these children. The NMC is a trauma informed and developmentally sensitive approach for caring and engaging with children, which takes into account the child’s brain development in a trauma informed manner. This training is ideal for foster, kinship, and adoptive parents as well as the staff who work with children who have been exposed to trauma.
